I so suck at keeping up with this blog. Now with carpal tunnel it makes it even harder to keep up with. So if you actually read my blog, I am sorry that I have been slacking, I really am going to try harder to keep this one up as well as I do my other blog.
This is an unusual fruit salad to say the least. I like to serve it at brunch. Most people are drinking mimosas and so they don’t seem to care that the melons are drunk, because they are a little tipsy themselves.
Yes, you do taste the vodka but not in a oh my God I so taste the vodka kind of way.

Drunken Melon and Raspberry Salad
½ cup orange flavored vodka
½ cup orange juice
1 TBSP sugar
1 small ripe honey dew melon, peeled, seeded and balled (if you don’t own a melon baller just cut into bite size pieces)
1 TBSP finely minced fresh mint
½ cup fresh raspberries
In a large bowl, whisk together the vodka, orange juice, and sugar.
Add the melon and the mint and use a spatula to combine the ingredients.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside at room temperature for 1 hour.
Fold berries in at last minute when ready to assemble.

That sounds great! Now I just have to wait four months for real melons around here… I think that is what I love about summer most – the fruit. And as for your posting frequency on NN, it’s odd, but I comment more on your other blog even though I *love* the recipes on NN more (CCbP has great recipes, but I always find myself wanting to make the recipes here). Strange, eh? Keep it up, lady… but rest your wrist. ouch! xxoo

That’s a beautiful, easy, fruit salad. It makes me want to have some friends over for brunch, and, yes, mimosas! I’m always happy when I see a new post from NN in my Google Reader. Thanks…I wish your carpal tunnel was getting better.
I know you did an entire post on CCBP about your condition and you received a gazillion suggestions. A few years ago, BigSis had carpal tunnel and was able to completely get rid of it by doing yoga. Just curious if you’ve tried any yoga?
Take care!

I think this would be perfect side to a Mimosa!
As someone who is dealing with her back pain I can sympathize. I’m getting new computer chairs, footstools, keyboards, mouses, document holders, glare screens…I keep telling folks it would be cheaper just to get me a new back!
Are you having to wear the wrist braces to bed at night too? That’s the hardest thing for me.

Sorry to hear about your carpal…try wearing a wrist guard when you type/write…it’ll help the pain a little. This fruit salad looks beautiful!

Mmmm that looks perfect for the weekend and so spring like. I know you love the fall and winter, but if this can be spring, that’s not so bad.

This sounds like the best way ever to get my daily fruit requirement – with booze!
